Events are temporary occurrences that can happen server-wide or in singular worlds. Some events can occur randomly during gameplay, while others are triggered directly by the developers. While active, an event may offer exclusive items unobtainable elsewhere. Most, if not all events last until a certain time limit is reached.

Annual Events

Annual events occur once every year and are generally held to celebrate holidays, such as the Harvest Festival, which is based on the Mid-Autumn Festival. Annual events run for a week, except for WinterFest, which lasts for two.

Daily Challenges

A randomly-picked Daily Challenge comes every 23 hours and lasts until the 2-hour limit is reached. During this time, players or can participate in a competition where the top five winners receive prizes.

As of the Challengers Approach! update, guilds can also participate in the Guild Daily Challenge, which has the same task as the Daily Challenges.

Special Events

Unlike the other events, Special Events are generated in a randomly-chosen world, thus can only be participated by players inside the world.

Deathmatch!	Killing people gives you some (1 to 3) of their gems for a short while.	Can happen anytime.
Jackpot!	Gems are spawned throughout the world.	Can happen anytime.
Spoiler Alert	You have 30 seconds to find the 10 pieces of the Secret Of Growtopia around the world.	Can happen anytime.
Desert Blast	You have 30 seconds to find and grab Desert Blast.	Can happen anytime.
Dr. Destructo Event	You need to defeat Dr. Destructo by punching him, before he escapes.	Only happens when triggered directly by a moderator or developer, as they are the ones with the ability become Dr. Destructo.
Wild Unicorn Hunt	You have 30 seconds to find an Awkward Friendly Unicorn before it escapes!	Can happen anytime.
Well, Well, Well	You have 30 seconds to find the 3 Well blocks hidden around the world!	Can happen anytime.
Lost Gold	You have 30 seconds to find the Gold Choker hidden in the world!	Can happen anytime.
Howling At The Moon	You have 30 seconds to find 3 Wolf Whistles hidden in the world!	Can happen anytime.
What's that?	You have 10 seconds to find and grab the Doohickey.	Can happen anytime.
Wild Fire	A fire has spawned in your world!	Can happen anytime.
Lock-Bot Malfunction	Lock-Bot has come to your world by accident!	Can happen anytime.
That's Puzzling...	You have 20 seconds to find the 20 Jigsaw Wallpapers hidden in this world!	Can happen anytime.
Crime in Progress!	A random villain spawns in your world.	Can happen anytime.
Beat The Heat!	Cool off with some free Water Buckets!	Can happen anytime.
Jungle Blast	You have 30 seconds to find 1 Jungle Blast.	Can happen anytime.
Playful Sprite	You have 15 seconds to find a Playful Sprite.	Can happen anytime.
Anniversary Party	You have 30 seconds to collect the 4 Party items spawned in your world!	Only happens during Anniversary Week, or by using a Party-In-A-Box.
Share The Love!	You can spawn a few gems every time you type /love or /kiss, lasts a few minutes.	Only happens during Valentine's Week.
Valentine's Card	You have 30 seconds to collect the 5 Valentine's Dust spawned in your world!	The event also gives a random player online a Golden Booty Chest or Cherry Blossom Pinwheel.
Rabid Leprechaun Attack!	Sudden death for every Growtopian in the world containing the event. Leprechaun will run away and you will have to find it in 30 seconds. The prizes will be Pot O' Gold!	Only happens during St. Patrick's Week.
Luck of the Growish	Green Beer and Lucky Clover spawn everywhere.	Usually 5 each; only happens during St. Patrick's Week.
Lucky Kitty	You have 20 seconds to find a Lucky Kitty or an Unlucky Kitty.	Only happens during St. Patrick's Week.
Egg Hunt	Go find them eggs! 20 Magic Eggs will spawn in the world.	Only happens during Easter Week.
Pinata Bash Event	You have 90 seconds to chase and smash the Ultra Pinata in order to grab its goodies.	Only happens during Cinco De Mayo Week, or when a Pinata Whistle is used in the world.
Summertime Surprise	A Summer Surprise has spawned!	Only happens during SummerFest, or when a Fireworks is used in the world (tiny chance).
Songpyeon Event	3 Songpyeon spawn in your world, you have 30 seconds to collect them.	Only happens during Harvest Festival.
Mooncake Madness	You have 30 seconds to find all the 40 Mooncakes scattered around the world!	Only happens during Harvest Festival.
Let it Snow!	You have to collect 30 snowballs before they melt!	Only happens during WinterFest.
Spirit of Giving!	Winter Gifts are spawned everywhere in a world.	Only happens during WinterFest.
Present Goblin Disguise	You will spawn toys for 30 seconds which you cannot pick up.	Only happens during WinterFest.
Turkeys Surprise!	You have 90 seconds to catch all Thanksgiving Turkeys before they Run! Go get it with your Friends!	Only happens during Thanksgiving Week, or when a Thanksgiving Bell is consumed in the world.
Festive Spirit	You have 30 seconds to find all 5 Winterfest Crackers hidden in the world.	Only happens during WinterFest.
Surgical Supply Drop	You have 30 seconds to find the 20 assorted surgical supplies hidden in the world.	Only happens during Surgery Day.
Balloon Hunt	You have 30 seconds to hit the Balloon Targets!	Only happens during Balloon Warz.
Royal Winter	Royal Winter Seals for everyone! Be quick you have 30 seconds to collect them!	Only happens during WinterFest.

Other Events

The Apology Weekend is set up as compensation for a rollback. Five Apology Weekends have happened so far; the last one happening during the weekend of February 14th, 2019.

During Anniversary Week, Euphoria begins when 5,500 points worth of consumables related to the former (excluding Skyrocket) have been accumulated in a world. All players with at least 200 points of contribution will receive a Golden Party-In-A-Box.

@Aimster holds a racing event at KYDERBY each year, a reference to the Kentucky Kyderby. It is usually hosted by moderators and some non-moderators who run the event for 24 hours. A rare item, the Mint Julep is given out as a prize to the winner of the racing event. The owner of the best race track design is also rewarded a prize. @Aimster chooses the top nine worlds from the forums.

STYX, now a former Moderator, used to hold a Fire Festival, which is a reference to the Philippines fire festival. It was held in the world FIRE, which he later sold as he was no longer a moderator, therefore, discontinuing the event. The prize for the world was a Golden Apple. Since the event is now discontinued, players can now obtain the Golden Apple from Golden Treasure Hoards.

There is always a possibility that another Moderator might request to host an event.
