Mooncakes come in five types that can each be obtained from any tree during the Harvest Festival. The rarer the tree, the higher the chance of it spawning a Mooncake, but not a Songpyeon.

Odds

Apparently the item's rarity is a rough percentage of a tree's chance to drop a mooncake; that is, Dirt Trees (with a rarity of 1) have a rather negligible 1% chance to drop a Mooncake, whereas rarity 24 trees (like trees that bear Sugar Cane or Table Lamp) have a 24% chance. That is roughly a 1 in 4 chance for that kind of tree to drop a Mooncake, so generally, the better the rarity, the higher chance for it to hide a Mooncake.

Mooncakes will be obtainable during the Harvest Festival holiday. Once that event ends, there will be no way to obtain them other than buying them from someone.

Mooncakes can be combined in a Chemical Combiner to make various festival items.
